People watching
Here is a couple that I saw walking to the Ballet over Christmas (we were on the way to see The Nutcracker). They just exuded style and elegance! Especially the woman, who had the most to die for red shoe boots.

Typography Invites (Wedding and Christening)
After a rather productive day with one of my closes crafty friends (making another padded pin board) I was inspired to sit down and start work on a Christening invite I've been asked to do. I always find it hard to create work off the cuff and find that having a reason d'etre really helps.
Here is a typographical wedding invite that I had great fun doing a few years ago.

Along with the draft version of today's creation...
I love popping back onto Illustrator and having a play. But I am seriously rusty compared to my Artworker days! The perils of becoming an Art Teacher are taking over! Argh! (Must not lose touch!)

Christmas Card prep
Every year I buy a stash of cards to send because I don't have time to make my own. Well this year I'm determined to make my own!
Here are some of them in the experimental stage. I've made an Intaglio plate of the robin and printed it through the press.
Here in experimenting with te addition if different watercolour experiments. I'll post te finished things...if I'm happy with them! X

Mixed media
Been up to all sorts at the start of term.
I have a new Year 10 GCSE Art group and we've been going back to basics looking at line and tone.

New Prints
I've been staring at the walls in my living room for the last couple of months and thinking that the artwork doesn't go with the colour on the wall. So I spent most of Sunday morning in my pyjamas in the spare room creating these. I think I'm at my best when I just get on with artwork when I feel like it, rather than set aside time.

Screen Print designs
I want to set up Screen Printing at work so that the students can generate some exciting design ideas and experimentation, however it's a massive process as there's lots of stuff to sort through. But I've been starting to think about my own little projects that I would like to do once it's up and running.
Taking my inspiration from the bouncing nearly 10 month old Bella, I've done some sketches and adapted them on Illustrator to give them a screen print look. I'm keen on using fabric to add texture to my work so would love for these to be printed onto simple calico and stitched back into.

Sparrows and Circles
Here is a little sparrow sketch that I did a long time ago. Having had a browse on Etsy and Folksy for some inspiration to fill some new photo frames in my living room I decided to revisit some of my old sketchbooks and stumbled across this.
It's been a long time since I spent time playing around with illustrator and having some screen printing ideas in mind I started having a play. For some reason I tend to favour using circles in my work so there seems to be a theme here.
